Parents often ask, “When should my child start swimming lessons?” The short answer: the earlier, the better — as long as lessons are developmentally appropriate.

At Bay Swim School, we welcome children as young as 6 months in our parent-and-child classes. At this stage, it’s all about water familiarity, gentle movement, and bonding time.

From ages 3–5, kids develop coordination and focus — the perfect time for beginner classes that teach floating, kicking, and breath control.

Here’s our checklist for your first class:
